Baptism
The Parishes of St. Aloysius & St. Aidan hold a joint pre baptismal preparation course each month. If you wish to have your child baptised please ask at the presbytery for an application form. If you are not a resident of our parish but wish to have your child baptised here please remember you must seek the written permission of your own parish priest.

The dates of the courses are published in the parish newsletter.
Coordinator: Sister Eileen

First Confession & Holy Communion
Preparation for the reception of these sacraments is organised through St. Aloysius Catholic Primary School. For this work the parish is deeply indebted to Mr. Purcell and school staff. Children are generally prepared in Year 3 and receive First Confession in February/March and
First Holy Communion in May/June.

If your child does not currently attend St. Aloysius School and needs to receive the sacraments early contact with the parish priest is urged.

Marriage
Marriage is also a sacrament prepared for jointly with St. Aidan's Parish. Generally speaking there will be two separate preparatory courses offered each year. Couples wishing to be married in Church must first make contact with the parish priest. This contact should always give at least six months notice before you wish to be married. The preparatory courses are managed by married couples from St. Aloysius and St. Aidan's Parishes.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Each year preparatory sessions are conducted jointly with St. Aidan's and ourselves. The Parish Sisters are the coordinators of the course which is designed to help those interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church to discover more about the faith. The course is open to any one who would like to discover more about the Church. In the past we have also helped those, initially baptised Catholic, who were not subsequently brought up in the practise of the faith.

If you are interested in knowing more please contact the parish priest
as soon as possible.
